Tying the leader to the fly line

The first time you get a rod, someone will probably tie the leader to the fly line for you and they’ll probably add a tippet. But when it comes to the time when you have to do it, it’s tricky, so let me explain a little. The fly line is the thick line, which connects to the reel first, the leader is then tied to the fly line and finally the tippet is tied to the leader.

REEL > Fly line > Leader > Tippet (thickest to thinnest).

I’ve done a lot of research and I’m most comfortable tying two perfection loops and attaching them (one perfection loop on fly line and one on the leader). I remember the first time I had to do it, I struggled, but after quite a lot of research, I found a video which really does go over it slowly and I wish I could have seen this when I was learning.
